Welcome to Newcastle Inner City Catholic Community
The Maitland - Newcastle Diocese has a pastoral plan dividing the Diocese into ten geographical Regions. We are proud to belong to the Newcastle Inner City Catholic Community, a part of the City Region, which is defined by the Harbour, several beautiful Newcastle Beaches, Throsby Waters and the home ground of the Newcastle Knights and the Newcastle Jets.
Within our boundaries there are Faith Communities at St Mary’s- Newcastle (established 1838), St Joseph’s -The Junction (1876), Sacred Heart Cathedral -Hamilton (1884), Immaculate Heart of Mary -Tighes Hill (1921) and St Laurence O’Toole- Broadmeadow (1939). Each of the Faith Communities has a proud tradition and we value their differences. What they offer in common is:
A Warm and Unconditional Welcome to All
