City Region Catholic Centre, The Junction
Formerly St Joseph’s Convent (1926-2001), this stately building was refurbished and re-opened in September 2003 as the City Region Catholic Centre. The Centre is the administration hub for the Inner City Parishes. The Parish Office, administration and pastoral staff are all housed in the building. Appointments with the Parish Priest and/or pastoral staff take place here. A fire-resistant room is the location for precious records and other archival material relating to the parishes in the City Region. The Centre is also a gathering place for parish groups and committees. The former chapel is a lovely, prayerful venue for children’s liturgy, retreats, and meeting or discussion groups and can accommodate up to 40 people, seated theatre style. There are three other rooms, suitable for small and medium sized groups of up to 20 people, which are used for parish-related meetings. The kitchen serves the needs of the staff and various groups using the Centre. It can, if needed, be used to cater for small parish functions.
Eleven off-street parking spaces are located behind the Centre.
