16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A bulletin now available

Jesus doesn’t beat about the bush but gives us quite a strong message in this Sunday’s parable of the darnel and the wheat, especially with the image of the blazing furnace. At the same time, He has given us the power through His Spirit and Word to work with Him to begin to transform that darnel back into wheat while there is still time. So, who in the world do I see as today’s darnel? As a Christian would I be happy to see any of them suffer the fate of the darnel? These questions need to be asked, because one day the Lord may ask us why we didn’t do more to pray for those we scorned as darnel and knew were most in need of His healing graces.Subscribe at the bottom of the page to receive an email notification of the publication of the latest Regional Bulletin.
