Have you ever stayed up all night waiting for the dawn? Or gone to a mountain-top or the seaside to see the sun come-up? The Jews in the Old Testament spent centuries anxiously awaiting the Messiah, and 2000 years later we await His second coming, when we believe He will be arrayed in glory, put an end to injustice and war, and set everything right. It’s with this spirit of anticipation that we enter the season of Advent.    Fr John
