The Book of Jonah is one of the shortest books in the Bible. Unlike other prophets, Jonah was called to preach repentance to a city of gentiles. They listened and were saved. Jesus would later come to compare His mission with that of the Prophet Jonah, whose name in Jewish culture means ‘dove’. This same mission is also ours’ today. Fr John
