Jesus has a delightful way of relating everyday life to theology through symbols.  Here Jesus uses fishing to represent evangelism and his metaphor has power – it is transformative.  The lives of Simon and his fishing partners are changed forever after this encounter.  

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.  At the beginning of Mass this weekend, we will have the blessing of candles.  Please bring your candles to Mass for the blessing.  There will be candles available if you don’t have one!
