Last Monday morning the news on the T.V. was of a light plane circling Newcastle Airport as its undercarriage landing gear had failed. The emotions were suspended between expectation of the unknown and yet knowing that there will be an outcome. This is the state of the Apostles and disciples prior to Pentecost. Pentecost was like the landing that provoked fear as the unknown began to happen that gave way to jubilant rejoicing and everyone wanting to share their experience and relief that something truly wonderful had just happened. However Pentecost is much more than an emotional experience. It is a transformation, empowerment and the activity of God changing our world. This is the Good News we live and share.
