Once again, we come to our diocese’s Perpetual Day of Remembrance, decreed by our Late Bishop Bill Wright in 2020. Its date, 15th September, corresponds with the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. This year it falls on a Sunday.
The readings, which were specially chosen for this very important day in our calendar, remain the same each year because their theme is one of light and hope, against a background of pain and sorrow. At this time, we particularly pray for all those, especially children, who over many years suffered abuse at the hands of clergy and others within our Church. We pray for peace and healing.
